Where to find things and how to use the kitchen at The Fernweh House.
The kitchen is fully stocked for real cooking. Here's a quick orientation.
Cookware & Tools
- —Pots and pans: left cabinet below the cooktop
- —Bowls, baking sheets, racks, and cutting boards: right cabinet
- —Coffee filters: drawer below the coffee nook
Coffee
Two coffee makers are available. Filters are in the drawer directly below the coffee station. A good morning starts here.
Cooktop & Oven
Microwave
The microwave is integrated into the design — guests often ask "where is it?" Look carefully; it's tucked into the cabinetry and not immediately obvious. Ask us if you can't find it.
Dishwasher
Please run the dishwasher before you check out — it's part of the checkout routine and helps our cleaning team turn the house around quickly for the next guests.
Laundry
A washer and dryer are available for your use. Washing your clothes before you leave makes unpacking at home much easier — treat yourself.
Other Appliances
Feel free to use all plug-in appliances in the home. Some have instructions attached or in their original box nearby — please don't misplace these.
Firepit Cooking
The outdoor firepit includes a built-in metal cooking box and stainless steel grill grate. Once wood burns down to coals, you can grill over them. Please brush the grate clean after cooking, and use foil or a pan to protect the concrete from oil and grease.
